Topics Covered

Her Unmuted explores the barriers, experiences, and leadership journeys of women across different fields. Through conversations with leaders, educators, and advocates, we examine how gender inequality continues to shape opportunities in politics, education, STEM, and society, and what can be done to challenge it.

Women in STEM

Gender disparities continue to exist in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Women make up only about 28–34% of the global STEM workforce, and representation drops even further in fields like engineering and computer science. These gaps are often shaped by factors such as bias, lack of mentorship, and limited representation. By highlighting women working in STEM fields, we aim to inspire young women to pursue careers in science and innovation.

Women’s Voices & Advocacy

Women’s voices have historically been underrepresented in public conversations and decision making spaces. Globally, less than one-third of expert voices quoted in major media outlets are women, and many women still face barriers to having their perspectives heard. Advocacy and storytelling play a critical role in challenging inequality, raising awareness, and creating change. Through interviews and conversations, Her Unmuted aims to amplify the voices and experiences of women from diverse backgrounds.

Women in Leadership

Women remain underrepresented in leadership positions across many sectors. Globally, women hold only about 32% of senior leadership roles, and in politics they make up around 26% of national parliament members. Despite growing representation, women often face double standards around leadership traits and decision-making. Through conversations with women leaders, we explore how these barriers can be challenged and how more inclusive leadership spaces can be built.
