What Are Welcome Kits?
The Her Umuted Welcome Kits are care packages providing essential items such as hygiene products, clothing, food, self care/wellness items, and baby products to women rebuilding their lives after displacement and domestic/gender-based violence. By working with various women’s shelters, our goal is to ensure every woman feels welcomed, supported, and treated with dignity as she begins a new chapter.

Her Unmuted is proud to partner with the following women's shelters to support women and families rebuilding their lives experiencing displacement domestic/gender-based violence.
Yellow Brick House
Yellow Brick House is a non-profit organization in the York Region of Ontario that provides emergency shelter, crisis support, and counselling services to women and children fleeing domestic violence and abuse. They have been serving women across the GTA since 1978. At their organization, they provide a 24/7 crisis line, emergency shelters, community counselling, and public education and prevention workshops.
Nellie's
Founded in 1973 and named after feminist pioneer Nellie McClung, Nellie's provides safe, inclusive housing for women, children, and trans/non-binary individuals fleeing violence, trauma, and homelessness. They provide an emergency shelter, transitional housing, and community outreach, while engaging in systemic social change work focused on eliminating gender-based violence and poverty.
